By prioritising the health of natural systems, we can create a more sustainable future that benefits current and future generations.

Bird Count Survey
For several years we have worked with a local bird group to monitor the levels and variety of birds around the golf course and surrounding areas.
They completed two visits in May 2024 and despite the poor weather which may have affected it slightly, the records were in keeping with expectations. There were 33 different species counted across the 2 dates.
The following quote produced from the survey shows the diversity; “The varied habitats around the golf course, Joyden’s Wood and residential gardens along Birchwood Road make for an interesting mixture. Also good to see the abundance of unmown grasslands on and around the golf course, good for invertebrates” -
Woodland Restoration
Working with the Woodland Trust, we have restored 1.2 hectares of woodland within our grounds by planting a diverse mix of native trees. This project not only enhances the biodiversity of our club but also provides critical habitats for local wildlife, supporting birds, insects, and small mammals. By sequestering carbon, these trees actively help us offset our club’s carbon footprint, aligning with the UK’s broader net-zero targets.
This reflects our dedication to engaging the local community. Over time, these woodlands will mature into a thriving natural asset, enhancing the beauty and ecological value of our course for generations to come. -
